VICE MINISTER OF THE LITHUANIAN FOREIGN AFFAIRS ATTENDS VISEGRAD, BALTIC AND EAST NEIGHBOURHOOD REPRESENTATIVES MEETING IN PRAGUE
Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Evaldas Ignatavičius participated in the Visegrad Group, Baltic States and the EU's Eastern Partnership foreign ministers' meeting in Prague 5th March 2012, where EU's Eastern neighbourhood issues were discussed. EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton and Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Štefan Füle were invited too.
Cooperation in the East neighbourhood initiative between EU and six East European countries - Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine -was considered in Prague and currently a "Roadmap" document is being prepared in Brussels.
This document will summarize the EU's and its partners in co-operation goals by the end of 2013 summit that is due in Vilnius.
At the Prague meeting a declaration, expressing common Visegrad countries (Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary) and the Baltic States' position on relations with the Eastern neighbourhood countries and the EU's action in regard to them was adopted.
Separate meetings of Mr. E.Ignatavičius were held with the Czech first Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Jiři Schneider and Slovak MFA State Secretary Mr. Milan Ježovica to discuss bilateral cooperation.
