“Speak dating” in Lithuanian on the European day of languages
Sept. 25, the European Day of Languages in Prague was celebrated with a unique event that invited the public to try 13 of the languages spoken in the European Union. Unusual and entertaining, the Speak-dating event, organized second year in a row, attracted a large multinational crowd.
Near 30 visitors at the Lithuanian table were taught a blitz Lithuanian language course by the Professor of Lithuanian at the Charles University in Prague Geda Montvilaitė-Sabaitienė, and Giedrė Malūkaitė, student at the Faculty of Humanities, Charles University in Prague.
The event was prepared by the European cultural institutes, embassies, Institute for Language and Preparatory Studies of the Charles University and the Centre of International Services, in cooperation with the European Commission Representation in the Czech Republic.
