National days of the Nordic and Baltic countries were celebrated with a joint event in Prague

On May 16, the embassies of the Baltic and Nordic countries in Prague celebrated the national days of their countries together. As last year, this year Ukraine was also invited to join the joint event as a special partner. The main theme of the joint celebration is active support for the country attacked by Russia.

This year's evening's guest of honor was Markéta Pekarová-Adamová, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Czech Parliament. The chairman of the Czech Senate, Miloš Vystrčil, other high-ranking officials of the country's parliament, the government, members of scientific and non-governmental organizations, representatives of city self-government, culture and business and community members also participated in the event.

The current 700th birthday of Vilnius was highlighted by the Lithuanian embassy this year. A Lithuanian culinary table was dedicated to our capital city, on which various Lithuanian food products named after Vilnius were displayed and offered. Last year, the export of Lithuanian food products to the Czech Republic increased by almost 30 percent and reached 45.6 million euros.

Prague is the only European capital where Nordic and Baltic countries celebrate their national days together. The joint event of eight diplomatic missions is being organized for the 16th time. This year, the preparation was coordinated by the Embassy of Lithuania.
