Lithuanian Embassy in Prague Opens Its Doors to Youth: "Diplomacy Week" Participants Gain Insight into Embassy Operations

This week, the Lithuanian Embassy in Prague welcomed Czech students participating in the inaugural "Diplomacy Week." High school students from Kolín and Brno, along with participants of the Prague Student Summit, visited the Embassy to learn about its work, including consular services, cultural initiatives, and engagement with the local community. The students also had the unique opportunity to engage directly with Ambassador Rolandas Kačinskas and the Embassy team, gaining firsthand insight into the diplomatic profession, career opportunities, and the challenges of diplomatic work.

"The importance of diplomacy is particularly evident in these challenging times. We are delighted to connect with young people, introduce them to Lithuania and our Embassy’s mission, and discuss current geopolitical issues. Lithuania and the Czech Republic share strong ties based on common values, historical experience, and a firm commitment to democracy and security in Europe. Such meetings not only foster mutual understanding but also help shape a new generation that will influence the future of our region," said Ambassador Rolandas Kačinskas.

"Diplomacy Week" is an initiative by the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs aimed at familiarizing students and the wider public with the work of Czech diplomats, sharing insights from their experiences abroad, and explaining key foreign policy priorities. The event seeks to raise awareness about career opportunities in diplomacy and encourage youth engagement in discussions on international and foreign policy issues.

By involving foreign embassies and international organizations based in the Czech Republic, students have the opportunity to observe diplomacy in action. Throughout the week, embassies in Prague are hosting student visits from across the country, offering direct interaction with diplomats. Events are also taking place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and participating schools across the Czech Republic, while media and social platforms are sharing diplomats’ insights and information related to the initiative.
