Lithuanian community discusses education with Forum2000 panelists

September 15, at the Embassy of Lithuanian to the Czech Republic, members of the Lithuanian community in the Czech Republic met with the Lithuanian panelists, invited to speak at the Forum2000 conference, Austėja Landsbergienė and Gintaras Steponavičius.

Austėja Landsbergienė is an established educology expert, Doctor of Social Sciences and founder of the private network of preschools “Karalienė Morta”. Gintaras Steponavičus is a former education Minister of Lithuania, member of the Lithuanian parliament.

During the meeting, the community and guests discussed issues surrounding the Lithuanian education system, reflected on the positive and innovative changes taking place. The discussion gave way to an exchange of opinions regarding the type of higher and secondary education Lithuanian and the EU needs if it aims to stay relevant in the current competitive environment. Landsbergienė shared her experience in founding and developing the private modernized network of preschool. Steponavičius gave insight into the current state of the Lithuanian education system.

The Lithuanian Embassy to the Czech Republic plans to continue the tradition to organize meetings between the guests of the Embassy and the Lithuanian community.
