LITHUANIAN CHAMBER CHOIR “AIDIJA” CONCERT IN PRAGUE

On November 6, 7:30 p.m. at the church U Salvátora (Salvátorská 1, Praha 1), a concert, The Aidija of Lithuania, will be held in the celebration of the 80th birthday of the renowned Lithuanian composer Bronius Kutavičius. Aidija chamber choir led by Romualdas Gražinis will perform the music of Bronius Kutavičius, as well as other Lithuanian composers.

The performance will incorporate parts of Kutavičius’s oratorio The Last of Pagan Rites, oratorio From the Yotvingian Stone, arranged for a vocal ensemble and non-traditional folk instruments, composition of Onutė Narbutaitė - Summer, The Bee by Nijolė Sinkevičiūtė, The Canticle of the Sun by Kristina Vasiliauskaitė, Chant about Death by Antanas Kučinskas, Hymn for St. Martin by Vaclovas Augustinas. The choir will also perform a piece by the Czech composer Zdeněk Fibich - Request.

The performance is a part of 10th season of the annual Ambassadors' Concert Series and is organized by the Embassy of Lithuania in Prague together with the NPO Musica Clasica Libera. The Lithuanian Cultural Support Foundation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania sponsor the concert.
