LITHUANIA OPENS ITS SECOND CONSULATE IN LIBEREC

Nov. 5, a second Consulate of the Republic of Lithuania in the Czech Republic has been opened in Liberec where the Honorary Consul Saulius Bazevičius assumed his new role in an opening ceremony attended by the ambassador of Lithuania to the Czech Republic Aurimas Taurantas.

The occasion was marked by a reception in the Šalda theatre in the old town of Liberec. Amongst the guests were the city’s Deputy Mayor Jiří Šolcas, regional politicians, and cultural figures.

The Consulate, located in premises of the company Baltaxia – owned by Bazevičius, will focus on increasing cooperation between Lithuania and the northern region of Czech Republic in the areas of tourism, economy, and culture.
