GUIDELINES OF FURTHER DEVELOPMENT OF LITHUANIAN - U.S. RELATIONS DISCUSSED IN PRAGUE

 On 8 January at the Lithuanian Embassy in Prague, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Vygaudas Ušackas met with Daniel Fried, Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs in the office of the U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.


As the administration of President George W.Bush is concluding its work, the Minister thanked the U.S.A. for having supported Lithuania, when the country sought to join the world’s most powerful and most successful political and defence organisation - NATO. The Minister also asked to convey his sincere thanks to U.S. Secretary of State C.Rice for her weighty contribution to the building of close bilateral cooperation between Lithuania and the U.S.A.

During the meeting, V.Ušackas and D.Fried also discussed possibilities of further development of bilateral relations.
