EUROPEAN DAY OF LANGUAGES IN PRAGUE: “SPEAK DATING” IN LITHUANIAN

September 26, the European Day of Languages in Prague was marked by a unique event that invited the public to jump into 12 of the languages spoken in the European Union. Fast paced, unusual and fun, the Speak-dating event attracted a large multinational crowd to the famous Lucerna passage.

At the Lithuanian table the visitors were introduced to the language by the Professor of Lithuanian at the Faculty of Arts of the Charles University in Prague Geda Montvilaitė-Sabaitienė. She had to work hard to answer all the questions of numerous visitors!

The interactive event has been prepared by the European cultural institutes, embassies, Institute for Language and Preparatory Studies of the Charles University and the Centre of International Services, in cooperation with the European Commission Representation in the Czech Republic.

Other languages in the event included Bulgarian, Czech, Estonian, French, Italian, Latvian, German, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, and Spanish.
