DAY OF RE-ESTABLISMENT OF LITHUANIAN INDEPENDENCE MARKED IN PRAGUE
March 11, at the Gröbova villa in Prague, Lithuanian Ambassador Aurimas Taurantas and the Honorary Consul of Lithuania Saulius Bazevičius invited the Lithuanian community to mark the occasion of the Day of Re-establishment of Lithuanian Independence at the screening of “Trajectories of Freedom,” a documentary film that tells the story of Lithuania’s road to independence.
During the event, Ambassador Aurimas Taurantas was congratulated on behalf of the Embassy and the community as one of the signatories of the Act of the Re-Establishment of Lithuanian Independence. Amongst the attendants were the Latvian Ambassador to the Czech Republic, the first Latvian Ambassador in the independent state of Lithuania, Alberts Sarkanis and his wife. Lithuanian national anthem was performed by a guest from Vilnius, Karolis Kruopis.
