Ambassador Rolandas Kačinskas greeted Czech troops on their return from mission in Lithuania

27 September 2024 a ceremony was held at the Vítkov National Memorial in Prague to welcome the return of the Czech Armed Forces units from missions abroad, including the NATO Forward Presence (eFP) mission in Lithuania.

The Czech troops served in Lithuania as part of the NATO multinational contingent led by Germany. The Czech troops were awarded medals and other decorations for their service abroad.

Czech Deputy Minister of Defence Daniel Blažkovec, Miroslav Hlaváč, First Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Czech Armed Forces, Pavel Fischer, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Security of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Lithuanian Ambassador Rolandas Kačinskas, and others, thanked the troops for their dedication and service.

Ambassador Kačinskas stressed, “The deployment of Czech troops in Lithuania demonstrates the Czech Republic's clear understanding that NATO security is indivisible. The active participation in the NATO eFP mission in the Baltic States sends a strong message that the Alliance is united, strong and ready to respond to any threat. The Czech Republic demonstrates the principle “all for one and one for all” not only in words but also in deeds”.

Several dozen Czech troops are currently serving in Lithuania.
