Ambassador Laimonas Talat-Kelpša Presented Credentials to the President of the Czech Republic

On Wednesday, October 21, Lithuanian Ambassador Laimonas Talat-Kelpša presented credentials to the President of the Czech Republic Miloš Zeman.

The ceremony at the Prague Castle was held in accordance with the pandemic restrictions and was therefore different from the usual: shorter, without national anthems and a bilateral conversation with the President.

Career diplomat Talat-Kelpša has been appointed Ambassador to the Czech Republic since September 15.

He has worked at the Presidency of President Valdas Adamkus, at the Lithuanian Embassy in Georgia, was the Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in 2011–2012 was an advisor to the Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius, in 2013–2018 – the Ambassador of Lithuania in India. Prior to his appointment to the Czech Republic, L. Talat-Kelpša was the Chancellor of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Ambassador to Lithuania is appointed and called-off by the President, upon the proposal of the Government and approval by the Committee on Foreign Affairs of Lithuanian Seimas (Parliament).
