Today, February 21, Ambassador of Lithuania to the Czech Republic Edvilas Raudonikis met with the Czech Minister of Defense Martin Stropnický to discuss the countries’ defensive cooperation and the joint Czech-Lithuanian troop training exercises. Among the topics touched were also the training of the Czech NATO rotational forces stationed in Lithuania and the Czech plans to join the NATO enhanced forward presence battalion.
April 20, at the Czech Parliament, the ambassadors of the three Baltic States, Chair of Committee of International Relations of the House of Deputies of Czech Republic Karel Schwarzenberg, former European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Štefan Fule, and Doc. PhDr. Luboš Švec from the Institute of International Studies at Charles University, gathered in a panel discussion to answer the topical questions that concern the current security environment of the Baltic sea region.
