Lithuanian day in Třeboň offered historical topics and something for travellers
For the South Bohemian town of Třeboň yesterday has become a Lithuanian experience: the Embassy of Lithuania in Prague in cooperation with Třeboň, a town partnered with the Lithuanian Utena, have organised the Lithuanian Day in Třeboň. During the day, the local schoolchildren watched the Lithuanian historical film The Excursionist and took part in discussions with the Ambassador of Lithuania in Prague Edvilas Raudonikis. Young people asked about nowadays Lithuanian society and tips for travellers, and also were interested diplomats’ work.
Třebonians and town visitors could learn a little bit about Lithuanian cuisine, since Lithuanian menus were offered in the health resorts Berta and Aurora.
The Mayor of the town Terezie Jenisová and other town heads attended the public evening screening of the Excursionist. After the movie lively discussion was held and later taken to the nearby JK Tyl Theatre lounge, where the guests viewed the exhibition dedicated to cooperation of Třeboň and Utena schools, tasted Lithuanian specialities and engaged in Lithuanian subjects until late hours.
